On the 27th of January 2025, Delighted Champs hosted a free beginner’s Chess Workshop that became a fantastic experience for everyone who participated. We had several chess-loving youngsters eager to explore this world of Chess, and we’re delighted to report that the event was a huge hit!
The event was held at the Delighted Champs Office CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai; the event was attended by youngsters aged 5+ who were eager to master the fundamentals of chess game. Our highly skilled instructors guided pupils through the basics of Chess, from understanding the chessboard, pieces and chessboard to understanding effective strategies and opening techniques.
Workshop Highlights:
- A Brief Introduction to the Game of Chess Rules and Pieces: Our instructors started by taking the participants through the chessboard layout and introducing each chess piece and its move. The kids enjoyed discovering the pawns, knights, bishops, rooks, queens and kings and were eager to begin playing.
- Basic Strategies and Opening Moves: After the rules were set, Our experts taught the fundamentals of chess strategy. The kids learned to play the game by using methods that are key to success, like taking control of the middle of the board, creating the pieces earlier, and defending their King. They also learned about typical opening strategies to get them going with a great start, regardless of the game.
- Interactive Sessions and Practice Games: A large portion of the class was dedicated to hands-on training. Kids had the opportunity to play a few games with their fellow beginners, reinforcing the lessons they had learned. The fun-filled sessions kept them interested, and the room’s enthusiasm was evident as they practised the new skills they had learned.
Meet and play with fellow beginners: Chess isn’t only about learning new strategies; it’s about connecting and having fun playing with other players. The event was an excellent opportunity for children to play and meet other kids with the same enthusiasm for Chess. The relaxed competition and an atmosphere of cooperation made learning Chess more enjoyable.
